When to Call
Call Okie accepts routine locate requests via webticket or fax-a-locate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Emergency locates can be submitted via telephone 24/7. All locate types can be submitted via telephone during normal call center hours.
Call Okie business days are defined as Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm. Routine locate requests allow member companies two business days to respond to the locate request and mark their facilities. Member companies are notified and respond to emergency locate requests upon receipt of the emergency request. Routine requests that are received outside the normal business days are processed so that the response period begins at 7am the next business day. Routine requests can be submitted by web at any time; however, these requests will be processed as stated above.
When making a locate request, please have the following information ready:
All messages to and from the Call Okie center are recorded and maintained for a minimum of 36 months. This is to protect both excavators and operators. Be sure to listen carefully to the list of member companies being notified. Remember, not all operators of underground facilities are members of Call Okie. It is the excavator’s responsibility to notify nonmembers by phone for location of their facilities.
Call Okie doesn’t take calls concerning service or billing problems, connects or disconnects, property damages, equipment moves or liability. Please contact the utility companies directly.
