Design/Survey Work
A Design/Survey can be requested if future development and/or excavation will occur and the requestor needs to know the location of the underground utility lines for the design phase.
- There are 2 ways to submit this request:
- List of Companies Only – No marking of facilities needed. Call Okie will provide a list of registered members located within certain legal description. It is then the requestor’s responsibility to contact those member companies to discuss their project.
- Send a request in writing including:
- Company Name
- Contact Person
- Contact Phone
- Return Email address or Fax number
- County of location
- Legal description of location (Range, Township, Section & Quarter)

- Requestor will receive list of registered member companies by Fax and/or Email.
- Locate Request for design or survey – Markings of facilities needed on property - allows persons who are in the planning stages of a project, to have a site marked for the purpose of collecting information on the location of existing facilities. Excavation is not intended in the immediate future. Please inform the CSR or note in the additional information section on your request that this is a survey request for a pre-designed project. Be sure to indicate what the design project is for. A routine locate request must be submitted before excavation is to take place. This is not a request for excavation and information obtained through a design/survey request is never to be used for excavation activities.
