The law requires the excavator or anyone working for the excavator to give notice no more than 10 days nor less than 48 hours, excluding Saturday, Sunday and legal holidays before excavation is set to begin.

Call Okie accepts routine locate requests via webticket or fax-a-locate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Emergency locates can be submitted via telephone 24/7. All locate types can be submitted via telephone Monday-Friday 6am to 10pm and Saturday 8am to noon.

Call Okie business days are defined as Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm. Routine locate requests allow member companies two business days to respond to the locate request and mark their facilities. Member companies are notified and respond to emergency locate requests upon receipt of the emergency request. Routine requests that are received outside the normal business days are processed so that the response period begins at 7am the next business day. In addition to normal business hours Call Okie has staff to receive and process routine locate requests Monday through Friday from the close of the business day at 6pm until 10pm and on Saturday from 8am to noon. Routine requests can be submitted by web or fax at any time, however, these requests will be processed as stated above.
